    Help with a rebuild!

Well... While we are waiting for snakeblitz33 (I believe he goes by Seth in the real world)... I figured I will update on my (non saltwater related) life. Really it's just an excuse to show you all this gnarly cut that I got early last week. My story goes as follows: I work part time at a...

    Our Nuvo 8

I bet. Those rounded corners look like a pain. Did you ever think that it's the spectrum of light from that LED light that is feeding your algae? I had a big light on my tank that did that. I was having crazy algae and not very vibrant corals because of it. I thought it was me... But it turns...

    Help with a rebuild!

Keif- I just feed them garlic. My fish LOVE it!! I put garlic oil and TONS of minced gloves in with the juice into the food I make. The first thing the fish go for is the chunks of garlic. Whenever I get new fish, they are unsure. They eat it by accident and BAM! They are hooked. But yes...

    Help with a rebuild!

And just like that... She's fine. I just looked at the tank after that last post and she is completely clean. WHAT?!?!? What does that even mean??? She's totally clean and just as active... What is going on in this little tank of mine? I'm not crazy... you all saw those pictures taken...

    Help with a rebuild!

from what I just read, I can treat with metronidazole in their food. It is the most reef safe and is effective in killing protozoans. It can cause some instability biologically but I am okay with that. These clown fish are the very first SW fish I ever bought. EVER. They have been with my...

    Help with a rebuild!

So I should just feed them garlic? Thats it? I already do that.. I will add more. And maybe some more vitamin? She is not acting listless yet... should I crank the heater or let the water get colder? Which do you think is better?? Thanks for the link by the way.

    Help with a rebuild!

Do I have to catch them? That is gonna be nearly impossible. Ugh... I don't want to deal with another disease... Why couldn't She have this disease while she was in the 60 and was easy to treat/catch. ugh.

Why on water change day do they look best?

Here is a thought... Whenever I do water changes I turn the majority of the flow off. My corals get really big and spread out a ton. Maybe it could be something as simple as that? I do agree with what everyone else said here though.

    Help with a rebuild!

And just as I say everything going well... LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE AN ILLNESS! :( I am sitting here trying to relax and then I see this. This is why I keep the camera handy. With my gimpy hand I managed to snap these pictures of my female clown. The male seems to be fine, both clowns and all other...

    Help with a rebuild!

So there is officially a lot of algae on my screen!!! It seems to be working as the one fish who lives in that tank has not died from spikes or over nutrient/organic rich waters. He is a happy guy. I only have 3 orange sponges, the 2 tree sponges and an orange ball sponge living in there for...

Snake's Method for Building an Algae Scrubber

A lot of things that you said in this last post confuse me. A screen to keep from splashing? Air pump? What? I am using like the baby algae scrubber model. I am not even sure that it's working. I'm not sure that it's not working... but...

    Novahobbies official 110g rebuild thread

I bet you could make it somehow. There are those little replacement nubs that go on dishwasher racks. I think hardware stores and also sears sells them. What if you glue some of those on to some pliers/tweezers with long bent tips?

Pictures look great by the way! The last picture in the first group of photos- the monti looking stuff with the yellow polyps. I bought a frag of that like a few weeks ago. What do you think of that stuff? Is it growing for you? I have mine in relatively high lights and pretty decent flow. It...
