    Homemade fish food?

We have found some of our fish don't care for the paste consistency. The last batch we made was too fine and the fish didn't care for it as much. I would imagine some of it is what they get used to and what kinda of fish you have. It seems to work best for us to use the same ingredients...

In tank brine shrimp hatchery ?

That did work. Thanks! It is good to see that your tang can eat them. I have 3 tangs, although my sailfin is alot bigger than your yellow. Hopefully he will be able to eat them. He can eat fish rowe that is super tiny. It is funny watching him eating those. He looks like he just swims...

    Talk about desperate

I can't give you exact numbers but I see it everyday where I work. We have the largest popluation of Bermese in the country (most of which are legal) and a fairly high population of other immigratants. I work for a non-profit hospital. It is a daily occurance to have illegal immigrants come...

    Talk about desperate

We often give better medical care to people who are here illegally than we do to our own citizens. I don't even want to get started on that subject...........

In tank brine shrimp hatchery ?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Jerth6932--for some reason I couldn't find the video. Thanks for trying though. I actually went out this morning and got some eggs, connectors, and a few feet of airline tubinb. I have everything else so it cost about $6 to give it a try. With the info...

    first pipefish

I must say, everyone in our house loves this little guy! I love how attentive he is and the way he moves his eyes. I wish I could put a couple in the big tank but we would never find them! He is very small and blends in with the agronite. I feel like we are playing Where is Waldo in the 56g...

In tank brine shrimp hatchery ?

I was hoping to supplement for my mandrin and a treat for the other fish. Also my husband has a small pipefish in his tank. It is not intended to be their main food source as we both have well established copods. We will probably end up setting up a traditional hatchery, just trying to avoid...

In tank brine shrimp hatchery ?

Does anyone have any experience with these? I know it would not be difficult to set up a traditional brine shrimp hatchery but we already have too many tanks and fish stuff all over the house. I would like to minimize that a bit. I am wondering how well they work? The salinity in my tank is...

    New Sargassum Fish

You acclimate it just like any other fish from the LFS. You should not ever put anything back into the wild if you decide later you don't want to keep it. It is fun to watch something you caught mature in your tank. It can however be a nightmare if you don't research what you are getting or...

    Really Aggressive Niger Trigger

I think the name is funny! Caught that earlier in the thread and thought it was ironic. My dad had a niger for years and I've had mine 1 1/2 and they are both very peaceful. Fish are a little like people, some are just mean. Honestly though, if you are set on keeping him, I would keep him alone.

7 weeks hypo and still ick!

Thank you both for your imput! My DT has actually been thru hypo/fallow twice now. I am not sure how the ick got back in the second time, maybe it wasn't ever really gone. It was either from a coral I put in that had not been QT or from a flame angle that was in QT for 6 weeks. I know how...

    Really Aggressive Niger Trigger

That little sucker would be GONE. It is only going to get worse with time and eventually he will kill everything else in the tank if he has already destroyed that many fish. How big is your tank? I would feel 10 times worse watching him kill all the other fish than I would getting rid of...
