    Refugium Macroalgae

Now this is going to look bad on my part but its from the dreaded Pet co.... Should I still get it? I dont see any harm being that the guy I talked to said he grows it in the sump in the back and occasionally sells some of it. Still a go ahead and buy?

    Refugium Macroalgae

Is grape caluerpa a good choice for macroalgae in my refugium? I dont have another algaes available to me where I live and I dont feel like spending $20 on a bundle of algae when I can get a nice clump of grape caluerpa for $2 a clump. I was told its very invasive but I dont have anything else...

    Refugium Lighting

Ok. Thank you. I also wanted to know the type of flow that spaghetti algae needs to grow and what I need to do to keep it alive. Ive been having trouble with that.

Would a 60w bulb with a clamp on light be enough for growing macroalgae?

    Microbubble problem getting old.....

Ok. So. I put my Mag 9.5 on CL to trade for a Mag 7. Hopefully I'll get some hits. I have fine tuned the intake and return enough so there isnt any bubbles coming through the intake and the return isnt running dry. I am Houdini! Now, the tank is cloudy. Really cloudy. I placed a sock of carbon...

    Microbubble problem getting old.....

My problem is I have to keep the intake valve open all the way in order to keep the return pump from running dry from lack of water flow. The bubbles are moving too fast to pop inside the sump so they return to the DT. This is what you are saying, correct? And about the baffle. You said I should...

    Microbubble problem getting old.....

So what you are saying is just add another baffle where the return pump is? What size pump should I have on this tank?

    Microbubble problem getting old.....

Hope this helps with confusion Ive pretty much accepted the fact that I will have microbubbles to a certain extent. There has got to be something I can do that will help though.

    Microbubble problem getting old.....

Sorry Posiden it doesn't make much sense to me. Is there any way you can show me what you mean? I'll link a pic of the sump. Maybe you can edit it in paint. I did go through today and take apart the plumping to check for leaks. There didn't seem to be any. I took off some of the zip ties that...

    Microbubble problem getting old.....

ifirefight. Im not concerned about the bubbles. They are just a pain in ***. The bubbles are in the sump and DT. They are coming from inside the intake tube. They then travel into the sump and make way back to the DT. I really dont mind if they are in the sump as long as they can be removed...

    Mantis!

A good 3.5''-4''. Ya I didnt have high hopes when that happened. When it was scooped out of the box in the net, it freaked out trying to jump out and when it was in the tank finally, it same all over the top trying to jump out of the tank Eventually it layed rest at the bottom of the tank, all...

    Mantis!

I doubt it was the phosphates. I have a clownfish, damnsel, multiple large and small hermits, many different snails, a fiddler crab and a emerald crab all in the tank and they are doing just fine with no die off at all. The tank has been cycling for a month now. I think it was the stress of...

    Microbubble problem getting old.....

ifirefight. The return pump baffles on have crashing water when the water level gets lower. I have placed some sponges there to help with that. The return pump area doesnt have microbubbles. Its got to be somewhere between the overflow and intake to the sump. Posiden. I dont see microbubbles...

    Microbubble problem getting old.....

Im not sure. Im pretty sure I dont have a hole to prevent back siphon. Im not good at all the different things Sumps can do or what I should do. Sump was already built when I bought it. This is my first overflow/sump. First pic is of the intake pipe without a sock or anything to prevent bubbles...
