    My first 10gal tank

First off Stop buying fish, coral, and "live rock" from Pet co. Sure there are a few lucky people that have kept Pet co fish alive for a long time but most fish there have some form of parasite or bacteria. I remember in my younger days, constantly battling and losing to Ick when I bought fish...

    First SPS

Awesome I would love, being my first SPS. A few questions though or at least one. I dont run a sump and/or refugium. I dont dose anything or have a calcium reactor or any other fancy gadgets. I simply have a HOB skimmer and filter, 2 powerheads, 60lbs of live sand, and 100lbs of live rock...

    First SPS

So your saying that this will eventually change colors to a brighter more "SPS" type coral? If so, that would be awesome. In the LFS tank, it was in maybe a 20g long tank with T5's sitting about 6-8'' away from the water. When inspecting the coral at the LFS, it didnt have any polyps out like...

    First SPS

2 days ago I bought a little $4.99 frag of a Brown Birdsnest. It looks good and healthy with white tips which to my knowledge means that it is growing. Ive seen enough SPS tanks to figure out that when a coral is healthy and thriving, its little polyps are fully extended making it look almost...

    Mantis!

Off topic but with my 40g tank and 20g sump, would a 5g water change each week be good? I already have to do a 10g water change each week on my 55gallon so I would love to only have to take 5 gallons out. Still hoping for some pics if possible

    Can I frag this coral?

Well I didnt even have to cut the coral. The rock was donut shaped so I just pushed the coral out of the rock. Its on a new rock and is already opening up. Thanks for the help and advice.

    Helping a Clownfish

Yes I realize that they will outgrow the tank. I have a 40g and 55g so I am ok on space. Anenome isnt an option. Tanks too young and dont have the proper lighting. I am going to get a new Clown today and see if it helps.

    Helping a Clownfish

The Clown is about an inch long. When I feed him, he is a hog but soon as he is full, he shoots back to his filter. Its not hosting the filter if thats what anyone is wondering. I took the damsel out so now its just the clown by itself.

    Helping a Clownfish

My Tomatoe clown in my little 10g is extremely shy. He has been in the tank for a month or two since the tank had begun and has always hid underneath the lip of the HOB filter where the water spills back into the tank. I tried adding a ton of rock and that didnt help. I added snails, hermits...

    Can I frag this coral?

Yes I would like to take it off its frag rock and put it on a new football size rock. The new big rock is very smooth so I was thinking I could make a very flat cut and super glue it on. I dont know how I would rubber band it on. But I think the super glue would get into the lether and possibly...

    Red tree sponge

Uhh.... Well that was a bit rude but Im not making fun of AquaKnights tank or his knowledge. I just thought it was humerous that he was explaining the difficulty of the sponge and then he showed us that he had one. Maybe it was something not everyone finds funny be I did. First is my 55g reef...

    Can I frag this coral?

I have a large (biscuit sized) toadstool coral that has always been a sand dweller. It had a rock attatched to it when I first got it so I decided to just keep it on the rock. Now I moved my rock around and the current position of it is getting sand blown on it all the time. This has caused it...

    Got Salt 125g newbie

It could infact be sand particals that are on it but it could also be Ick. This could eventually kill the Tang if you let it get bad enough. Your options are QT the tang, treat with copper based medicine, or do Hyposalinity. Do research on it or just do a search for ick based threads and you...

ODD Pest Anemone Removal Question + Reference PICs

If all else fails! Bergiha Nudibranch will more than likely solve the problem. They are small .5''-1'' tan nudibranch that go and eat Aiptasia. They are solely bred to eat aiptasia. I saw a video of 4 or 5 of them tackling and eating a very large aiptasia. They are about 10$ per nudibranch. I...
