    Trouble with mushroom placing

I've had some issues with getting mushrooms to stick as well. What has been working the best for me is to place the mushroom on my agronite (or maybe a pile of small shells on top of your sand??) and then I put a clear glass bowl on top of the mushroom--prop one edge of the bowl up a little bit...

    New DIY project

Our top skinny drawer has the tubes from the overflow going into it. Then the next 2 skinny drawers have floss and carbon, then the larger drawer has bioballs (slowly converting to live rock rubble). It is easy to clean with the drawers. I took the very bottom drawer out all together. I store...

    New DIY project

We did the same thing. It has been up and running for about 3 months now--so far, so good. I wish I would have thought about the eggcrate idea!! Much easier than drilling. Cost about a 1/3 of a traditional wet/dry and is working great. I'll be interested to see how yours turns out.

    RIP hitch hiker crab....

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately Terre Haute is a bit far for fish unless we happen to be there for some other reason. I will definately keep it in mind. We have friends in Indy and are occasionally there for other reasons so we may swing by Premium Aquatics. Since it doesn't sound super...

    why so frustrating????

Somehow it is easier to be a rock artist in someone elses tank!! You knew I was itching to get my hands in it. It is difficulty to tell depth perception from the pictures, but seriously, it looked great the first time---before the cat jumped on the aquarium and knocked it over. At least now...

    RIP hitch hiker crab....

We are a couple of hours from Premium Aquatics and have been thinking of a road trip. We don't need much live rock but we are interested in some fish and corals. I have heard that all of their stock is hand caught (no poisons). Have you heard that? Do you think it is worth the drive?

    IT'S OFFICIAL (sorta)

I feel sad for you..........I'm betting though it will all be worth it when you see how happy she is in her new home! It will be exciting to see her take off in that huge aquarium.

Okay, that nak-d hermit is FUNNY. I've had a ton of hermits and they have never done that. It must be something in your water!

    120 build on a budget!

Okay---obviously I figured out how to post some pictures. There must be a limit to the number of pictures per post? Anyway, here is the wet/dry for anyone who is interested: Attachment 238746 This is not a great picture. It is the Trigger, six line wrasse, and one blue damsel: Attachment 238747

    120 build on a budget!

Okay, I obviously don't know how to load my pictures from photo bucket. Any suggestions? I took the code from the HTML code and the IMG code and neither worked! I'll work on it some more after dinner!

    120 build on a budget!

Hopefully I can figure out how to download some pictures! I had saltwater aquariums for many years and got out of it when I moved my small aquarium to get new carpet. The plan was to upgrade to a larger aquarium. Well, many years later.....finally the 120. It was purchased rather on impulse...

    Sally Lightfoot

I had one that I enjoyed for about 2 years and then he started attacking fish. Killed 2 small fish at night. He was GONE. My kids would love to have one, but never again!

    Newbies Bio Cube 29

I had a similar question about feeding the critters on the live rock. Spanko advised a water change if the ammonia was more than 0.5. and not feeding them during the cycle. My ammonia was 1.0 so I did a 20% water change, the next day it was 0.5 and went down to 0 from there. It has been...

to get a bigger tank or not get a bigger tank...tis the question

Guess I wasn't done.... $640.....wow, we got our 120 gal tank, stand, 2 new Koralia powerheads, 100lbs agronite, several pounds of base rock and live rock, and made a wet/dry with new pumps and overflow kit for less than that! Our tank also came with 2 cannister filters, drift wood, gravel...

to get a bigger tank or not get a bigger tank...tis the question

Just keep watching because things go quick on craigslist. Someone tonight had a mated pair of tomato clowns for free and he told me he had 12+ replies in less than an hour! I've seen alot of people state they get live rock on CL also. I've been watching for months and only seen it in our area...
