    Info on rabbitfish

Typical price. Won't get much cheaper than that, if not MUCH more expensive. If you like it and have the right size tank get him. Just watch your hands.....

    Ever heard of this?

Pods will NOT crawl on a fish unless the fish allows it and imovable/unmoving spots on a fish are NOT pods. Nor can anything calcify on a fish like that. Its ich. Does he scratch himself at all on the rock? He should be ok in a 10 for a couple of weeks, just provide him some hiding spots so...

    False Perc Clown

Yeah what melody said..... I thought it was a smaller number. Either way if you have any doubts thats how you REALLY tell.... But usually you can tell by the coloring.

    False Perc Clown

The only TRUE way to tell between the two is to count the top fin spines. One has 7 the other 8..... Color is usually the first indication though as to which one you do have.

    Ever heard of this?

I was thinking do you trust this LFS? or are they just not knowledgable? There is a difference and you can really tell. I can at least. Kid this weekend was like oh look theres a new polpy growing right there and i was like "uh thats aptasia and i have something that eats that..." He said it...

    Ever heard of this?

Hmmm... Well check out the QT sticky in the disease forum by Beth. As far as money goes you can get a 10 gallon full setup for 40 dollars last i checked.... Er maybe 50. Thats fine enough for a QT. In the long run it will end up saving you lots and lots of money. Think of it this way. If...

    calcium and growth

I use liquid and just in the last 2 weeks got my levels stable. I have sps and lps under 130 watts of pc's in my 20. Im sure ill get a lecture on that but i really do have excellent growth and the corals are the same color as they were under the halides i got them from..... Monti Digi grows...

192 watts enough light for corals?

You aren't so limited as they make it out to be. You do have quite a bit a light. If you build a nice rock base and have things closer to the lights you'll have excellent results. Stay away from SPS and clams. You could probably keep a clam BUT he may not thrive very well and any clam you...

First coral ... when to get?

Thats plenty enough. Make a nice base out of your rock so the corals get up in the tank a little bit and you should be fine. If you are planning on upgrading to VHO buy a 4 bulb ballast. I think the dual VHO bulb ballasts are only marginally cheaper and you would be better off investing in a...

    Purple Firefish

Not a swimmer active but will find a cave that will be its home and hang out near it flicking his top fin. They swim a little but not far from their home. Buy it for looks not activity..... And keep in mind it is a jumper too and WILL jump out of your tank if something startles it like you...

    Ever heard of this?

HAHAHAHAHHA. Now thats funny. That tops my list of stupid LFS advice. I'll eat my words and be embarrassed as hell if im wrong but what a crock o crap. Its most likely ich. A fish doesn't have to "act" sick for it not to be ich. It can take a day to weeks for ich to set in on a fish hard...

    Feeding Corals Dried Foods....?

Just curious if there is anything good or bad to this. I have a half dead bubble im trying to save and the only thing i can get in its mouth are the sinking general saltfish food pellets i have. He responded to them but i wonder if they are good for him or not... I have seen my other corals...

unkown cause of death to clown goby

Well they were right in a sense. Brine isn't very hearty of a food but it is a very good food to feed fish. Most will eat it in some fashion. As well as cruising the tank looking for food to drift by. That drifting food could be a number of things growing in your tank if you've bought any...

Wow.... Thats not something you see every day..... Looks like a Berghia nudi/seaslug. Says here in my jullian sprung inverts book they eat colonial anemones and are useful in controlling aiptasia.... Reef safe, must have sufficient light(probably pc's) and aiptasia to thrive. The only thing...

Having a hard time getting Calcium up

Name all the corals in your tank. You could just be adding the calcium to slowly. You might need to just do a dose directly to the tank. Do you turn your skimmer off when you add? If you have a powerful skimmer it could be sucked right out before it circulates at all. I added half a frikin...
