Help! Mystery illness is killing my tank

Thanks for the additional advice. To defend myself..... First, honestly, I wasn't educated at all about ich. To be frank, I didn't think that ich existed in a marine tank, call me stupid, but this is my first saltwater tank and the first experience with ich. Second, I'm deducing all of this post...

Yes, the other fish had ich....my black domino was covered in white spots and had pop eye...the other fish died while I was away. The last clownfish was constantly at the...

    Does ich discriminate?

So here's a stupid question....what do I do? Do I move the coral banded shrimp and sand sifter to a QT? And in that tank do I have to have live sand? I guess I have to for the sand sifter and can they cohabitate in such close quarters? What about my live rock? Do I leave those in the regular...

    Does ich discriminate?

Can invertebrates be carriers of ich? Well, silly me...the water they came in could have had it, right? Does the hyposalinity treatment affect the inverts? Hm, I recall that yes, it does....so if I need to treat my tank of ich, I have to move the inverts to another tank. Darn....is there another...

Help! Mystery illness is killing my tank

BTW, this tank is 18 months old and has live sand and live rock. The surviving clownfish had white spots on it, but after the hospital tank did not have that anymore and was fine. I'm very sad.

Help! Mystery illness is killing my tank

I have a 37 gal tank and introduced a coral banded shrimp and a sand sifter. About 4 weeks later, my black domino started to look sick and developed pop eye. I tried to save him, but before I could, he died. The other fish did not look sick nor did they have pop eye or ick. Two weeks later I...

    Need algae cleaner help

Dumb question....where do you get RO water? And yes, I've been using tap water. The tank was looking really pretty, now it's just brown and a bit yellow looking. I'm just glad the cycling is over and everything else is okay...now I just have to deal with this.

    Need algae cleaner help

Hello, I'm new to saltwater and have had my 37 gallon tank for about 8 weeks. The chemical levels are great, nitrates and nitrates at perfect levels, the fishies are happy. Question is this: got lots of brown algae on the live rocks and sand and on the fake plants. What will help get them...
