    Moving tank

Tricky questions... How do you think you would do, if someone locked you in a closet for 3-6 weeks? If the move is local, or within reasonable driving time to your old place, see if you could check him in at a local LFS. If not, try and up the smaller tank to like a 20 gallon or larger new...

    How does my set-up look?

I must have read it wrong...nitrites at 40 and nitrates at 0. If this is correct, then once the nitrites go down to 0, the nitrates will go up. Let it be for a few days and then do a couple of 10-20% water changes over a couple of days to dilute the nitrates and anything else which may be in the...

    Red mangrove tuber

athiel.com has very good information on Mangroves, growing, etc. There is also links to purchasing them as well. Has good information about other topics in marine ecosystems as well.

    RO v/s RO/DI

The RO portion removed most contaminants from the water. Several ions (negatively and positively charged) can and often do pass through the membrane. These ions, which are thought to be harmless for human consumption, are not so harmless to the marine environment. The Deionization (DI) portion...

    high nitrates

Live rock performs as a bio filter...if you have adequate bio filtration already, then increasing it would be an option in my opinion. In my 90, I only have about 5 pounds of live rock and no plans on increasing it either.

    can ich travel on LR?

If you purchased the rock which was exposed to the parasite in the drop off stage, or in the free floating stage within a given time, you certainly could introduce it into your tank from the rock. A host is simply a portion of the Cryptocaryon life cycle. The remaining 2 stages (as mentioned...

    waterchanges

RO/DI water...no nitrates in the tap water, but a slight amount of phosphates...ended a hair algea problem once I switched and slowly replaced the tank water.

    Bye,bye snails

Could be your peppermint and coral banded shrimp eating them. I have watched my peppermint swim to about 6 or so inches from the bottom, latch on to a snail on the glass and work him till he falls...then it is a toss of between the shrimp and the dwarfs who gets through the trap door first....

Switched from CC to DSB/Algea problem

Your ph will most likely continue to fluctuate due to lack of buffering from the silica sand versus the aragonite sand. I think you should pay close attention to that.

    Cycling

Your tank will cycle when it cycles. No faster then that. When the Nitrites are back to 0 then it has cycled. Do not try and rush your cycling. In fact, do not try and rush anything with your marine tank. Slower is better in all aspects of this hobby...

    high nitrates

Eclipse... Smaller, more often water changes are better then a larger one. For a 75 do about a 20% (15 gallon or so), once a day. Large, sudden changes in the water chemistry will effect the livestock and can effect your bio filtration.

how long to cycle a FO tank

During your cycle or at any time through out your ownership of a marine tank, micro algea should always be of concern. Once let out of control, it is a difficult thing to bring back under and maintain in control. Unless you are looking to specifically grow a type or types of micro algea, I...
