I want to buy the test kits but those suckers arent cheap as most of you well know and for now I am going to have to rely on the cheaper method as long as I dont lose to much livestock...

    well sounds like I will be staying with the ole tube bulbs for a while then, I am thinking heavily of looking at building the raingutter assembly idea I found but building a nice wood enclosure for it...ah well...more dreaming.... I will keep you guys posted

    I did go to petsmart and had them test My water params, they did not do copper testing but said that copper was rare in our water up here. as for the params, all the girl said was that everything was spot on...good for Me, yay!!     well a few days into it, I have made 2 attempts at making the first stage of the live , the first one I didnt let dry long enough ( i was over 24 hours) and it crumbled badly when I was taking it out of the casting so the next set will be staying in at least 48 hours..pictures to come later...
