    Pod Production

I have 3 nanos running right now. The 2 active ones are both 10 gallons. In one I have a clown and have never seen any pods at all, in the other all I have is corals and no fish and there are pods everywhere. My question is if I add a fish or shrimp will it kill out the pod population?

    Where to buy tanks

If you are looking to go over about 200g I personally would just build it. It would be cheaper but you also run the risk of it leaking.

    Bristle worm stings

I have heard that they eat coral and I have also heard that they don't and that they are great, but I always find them around my corals and I always have my hands in my tanks so to me they are bad!

    Bristle worm stings

Thanks, these guys are a reddish pink with a dark purple stripe down the middle. They are starting to make me mad because I keep finding them in my 10 gallon reef. I don't like them and with the smaller ones I get an airline tube and start a siphon. With the larger ones I use a water change...

    Wanna Critique a Tank?

Putting another fish in a tank like that would be risky. All the current livestock is about in the middle of their growth rates. If you don’t plan on giving some of these fish away in the future just be happy with what you have.

    Bristle worm stings

How bad does a bristle worm sting hurt? I was cleaning one of my reef tanks and I accidentally brushed my finger across a small one hiding in some zoos. The finger hurts but only when I put pressure on it.

    lepord sharks

Yes I was thinking about the Zebra's. Even if you did live in so cal and they are native to your area it is still very stupid to release a fish kept in captivity for any amount of time.

    lepord sharks

I just hate to see good animals put down because people want to have a real live shark in their living room.

    What size is a nano?

My first saltwater was a 10g so I think tiny. To me a 50-30 is normal, 20-10 is a small tank and 5 and under is nano.

    Wanna Critique a Tank?

post a pic if you have one, but it sounds like you are maxed out on bio load if not a little over. Those fish will out grow that tank sooner or later so be ready to sell or upgrade.

Novice150, Good Luck on a Healthy/Safe shipment today!

Novice: I have way less than you do but right now I have 1 shark tank and 3 nano-reefs. My only words of advice are, whatever you do DO NOT CALCULATE HOW MUCH YOU HAVE SPENT!!! It will make you sick and want to kick yourself all at the same time. The only bad thing is that when I see what you...

    lepord sharks

I have seen them for $99 at about 10" or so. But I can not stress enough FIND SOMEONE TO TAKE HIM BEFORE YOU BUY HIM. You do not want to be stuck with a 3' shark in a 6' long tank. What are your options? 1. Give him to a Zoo, do you realize how many people have already tried this method and a...

    sorta OT: Roy

You can take the animal out of the wild but you can’t take the wild out of the animal. On a latter note I read a story about a "self-taught" bear expert in Alaska who was once quoted as saying that Alaska's Grizzlies are harmless, was fatally mauled this past week.

    sorta OT: Roy

If you don't know Roy from the famous Siegfried and Roy act was mauled by one of his tigers a few days ago. The reason I am posting this is to ask some of you guys out there that either care for big sharks, big eels, or very venomous fish (stonefish) or dive with them on a regular basis if you...

Novice150, Good Luck on a Healthy/Safe shipment today!

Novice, replicating your tank in my house is now on my 10 things to do before death list! I will have a tank with a bonnet head some day but until then I guess I'll have to drool over yours. If you don't mind me asking about how much was the little guy and how is he being shipped?

Whoa... Whats happening to my xenia?

LOL well the same thing was happening to my xenia but I had 4 seperate stalks in the tank that just started looking really puny. Well I think mine is going to be because of to much iodine because I dose it weekly for my clam.

    Beach Sand for an Aquarium

I used beach sand from cancun in one of my 10 gallon reef tanks, only 2 problems is that I get a very strange type of algae growing on my glass and rocks and every once in a while i find a cigarette butt in my sandbed.
