I say use some PRIME....it adds ammonia to the tank and will kick it off really fast. Trust me I know I killed my entire tank with this stuff. To start your cycle you can add PRIME. But as stated above let it cycle.....by all means LET IT CYCLE.

Can someone please post a picture of a clown hosting a torch coral? I had to get rid of my anemone and now my clown is just hanging out. I got a torch and I am hoping if I can hang a picture of a clown in a torch she may jump in. Thanks

They were just fine with my lighting (or so I thought) I did try to move them up and down and all around to figure out what was going on. Now since the fw dip they don't look so hot. So I figure they are doomed now for sure. I will keep everyone posted. Thanks so much for your help.

Ok I did it....I got a few pods and stuff off but I also got about 6-8 of these little flat looking things that were a clearish/white color. Could this be the culprit? I couldn't get a picture it was entirely to small.

OK freshwater dip....where are instructions for that?

Well it isn't my hermits or my CB. I counted them and I had 9 polyps. I notice that they will shrink a little then close up all together...then they are gone. Is there a reaosn for this or is this a preditor?

OMG yes do a water change. You should not have a fish in your cycling tank.

Well my hermits have never bothered anything and my lighting is listed above. My zoa rock is now mid tank as I thought maybe it needed more light, but that doesn't seem to be doing any good either.

no I don't see anything like that in there. I do have tiny spiral looking snails all over the glass but I don't think these are the same things.

I don't know what a sundial snail is. I will google it. I haven't seen anything unusual.

Hi all - not trying to hijack. My problem is consistant w/ this thread. I have 2 xenia's - they are off the same piece. I bought them the weekend of MACNA. I went out of town this weekend ( starting to think I can't do this) and I got home last night. One of the xenias is shriveled up...

No it wasn't an already cycled tank. When I set it up I did use some DT water to initially set it up. I lowered the salinity to 1.009 and it was there or at 1.008 the whole time. I used AmQuel to help keep ammonia down if I wasn't around to do water changes and I also used ammonia reducer in...
