I just wanted other peoples opinion on fish I could get for a 12 gallon reef tank. I know I can probably only get 2 fish. My thoughts were a sixline wrasse, AND......I have no clue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
So two cleaners, a peppermint, 2 astrea snails, 8 hermit crabs, and 2, 3-4(max size) inch fish won't be too much for the 12 gallon tank??? Ill have corals eventually... And about 15 lbs of live rock. As soon as i can afford the lighting.....
I figured the flames were.... I was thinking about an Orangespot goby, I don't really want a neon goby but i may settle for one. Maybe a royal gramma or a firefish. Are feather dusters worth getting? Thought about getting one or two and also thought they would help with clean up...
He's on my list of fish to get. I heard he may eat my shrimp though.... Other than that I know he's great for reefs. I was also thinking about the Bangaii/Budda Cardinal or a Flame angel. I really don't know, since i'd rather invest in the corals right now and then get the fish.
Already feeding my two green chromises brine shrimp and spirulina flakes..... Will the softies take mysid shrimp. I bought some but the chromises don't like it.... I think thats all the questions i have (for now....) I appreciate your help. Ever have a Sixline Wrasse?
Interesting....I think ill start a school on taking care of your aquarium.... :) While I've got you what can you tell me about calcium supplements? All i know is that corals need them, but i've been told the instant ocean i use to buffer my R/O water should take care of that.... Any help on...
I was planning on placing them at the top. Way ahead of you. Everyone i've talked to has said that so long as i get them up by the light. I'm not going to get to extravegant with the corals. Just the simple ones that can live off of the lower light. With the water change would you suggest 2...
I have an eclipse 12. I plan on installing 30 watts of light. My final goal is for mushrooms and polyps not sure on the quantity, 15lbs of live rock, 2 :3-4 inch fish and of course all the cleaners (snails, shrimp, and crabs). So bimonthly should do it? What about screwing up the cycling of...
Are you sure about that? I've been told that I don't need one because the tank is so small, and I've been told I do need one because I'll have corals.... I guess if i get enough cleaners in there the tank will be fine??
Is a cleaner/skunk shrimp too much for a 12 gallon reef tank? I already have a peppermint shrimp in the tank, 8 hermit crabs, and 2 astrea snails. Would adding the cleaner be too much or could i get rid of the peppermint and add the cleaner??? If it helps i plan on having about 15lbs of live...
Anyone know of a protien skimmer that won't be too excesive for a 12 gallon reef tank. I know its small but i made it work. I have 30 watts of lighting and plan on getting some mushrooms and polys. Im also looking to not spend to much money if that can be avoided. Thanks...
Does anyone know of a small protein skimmer I can get for a 12 gallon salt tank? Im not tryng to spend $150 dollars on a larger one. I'll eventually have some polyps and mushrooms in the tank, but i need a skimmer first.... Thanks.
