    Probably a "No brainer" but...

I have an opportunity to acquire a 250w x 2 metal halide/65w x 4 power compact/moonlight with month old bulbs for $150. I have been eying up a 250w x 2 metal halide/54w x 4 T5s/moonlight for $269. My question is are the T5s THAT big of an upgrade as to warrant the extra $119?

    Anyone ever heard of.......

Can anyone think of a reason why a Tetra 1000-GPH Submersible Pond Pump or a Beckett 800 GPH Submersible Pond Pump wouldn't work as return pumps?ww wouldn't work as a return pump in a sump? Beckett 800 GPH Submersible Pond Pump Beckett 800 GPH Submersible Pond Pump

    What would you pick?

I'm looking to replace my main return pump. I've narrowed it down to the Rio 26HF and the Sicce. The Rio pushes more water but I don't think I really need it. Its a drilled 75 with Durso standpipe going through a 2" bulkhead, my return line is only 3/4" so I know that coupling that with my head...

Odyessa light unit. I was toying with the idea of upgrading to MH but not sure I want the extra costs and heat.

It has 2 12k daylights and 2 Antics. I was worried it would get bleached being too high but I'm positive y'all know more than me so......

Research time, since first try didn't go so well

I've fallen for a nice pc of Monti Cap. My tank is a 75gal with 215 watts of T5 over it. Will that be sufficient and if so any suggestions on what level I should place it? Oh, the tanks been up for a couple years and currently has 'shrooms, Xenia, and a nice pc of Torch flourishing in it. I...

    Potential Score

I WILL be posting some pics asap. The stars are so tiny-black and white striped little cuties. Upon further inspection I seem to have adoped a snail of some sort too. No clue what it is, never seen one like him before. He's a cream color and it doesnt look like his shell is even close to being...

    Potential Score

Just scored a 5 lbs rock with some nice GSP on it, 2 mini serpents (so far), 2 peppermint shrimp, and a 3 inch yellow tang (with what looks like a mild case of MHLLE-I think it'll be ok) for a whopping grand total of........wait for it........$10.00!!

    Which is better?

Its an old 55 gal that I converted into a sump/'fuge. Right now I have it set up to drain straight down flow from the left (sump with heaters and a skimmer) through a few baffles, through the refugium, and finally into the return pump area on the far right. Then back up and over to the left side...

    Which is better?

Would I be better served with a short drain line running straight down and a longer return running up on an angle OR a longer drain line running on an angle with a shorter return line running straight up?

    Baffles

Howdie all, I have a question about baffles. I made a sump/refugium out of a 55 gal and used glass to make my baffles. I got the glass from Home Depot, I think it was picture frame replacement glass. Well the baffle that made up the end of the refugium going into the return compartment couldn't...
