    Free Live Rock

whoa, gone for an hour or so and look what happens. If I go the flatworm exit route, do you recommend sitiing it in a quaratine tank for a while? One problem is that one of the pieces won't fit into my 55? Is there a brand that you recommend? Is the treatment called flatworm exit? These are...

The guy who is giving it to me informed me that I will also be aquiring flatworms. Not sure if I want to introduce them into my system. I saw the rocks they are beautiful pieces with...

    Turboflotor T1000 Skimmer issue

I am in the process of setting up a 90 gallon. Presently I have a 30 gallon sump and a new Turboflotor T1000 with OR2700 pump. I was testing the skimmer last night and filled the area of the sump where the skimmer is located. It did not pull any water in when I pluged it in. I filled the skimmer...

    Too much sand?

In thinking about how best to set up my new 90 (upgrading from my 55) I know a few things. 1. new skimmer- thinking of a super skimmer or ASM. 2 Sump/fuge 3. Sand bed My question really has to do with the sand bed. If I put sand in my tank as well as my 30 gallon sump/refugium how much sand am I...

    Bubble Tip on the Move

LTA hasn't moved since I put him in the tank. He is right in a corner and food usually comes his way. It will be interesting to see his reaction to upcoming move into 90 gallon with sand bed. I have seen my clowns in him once. Most of the time they are at top away from LTA.

    Go big or go bigger

Well, I guess if it is not enough for a 120 I will go with a 90. I just purchased the lighting system and its size and power have made the switch to a bigger aquarium a certainty- just wondering what the new lights can do and what size I can have.

    Go big or go bigger

Used tanks scare me. I bought a 55 a few years ago that looked great ran nice for about six months and I came home to find the contents on my floor. Fresh water and not much invested - but still. I think limitations for me in terms of size limits me to a 120. I currently have an Outer Orbit...

    Go big or go bigger

In contemplating a move to a bigger and more sophisticated system I am wavering between a 90 and a 120- Where the benefits of a bigger aquarium are obvious, I think no advice from anyone can push me one direction or the other. I was speaking to a friend who is pushing me toward a 120. He said...

    Very Worried

The nice thing is that I do not pay for electricity- boarding school perk. Should I cut back a bit for a time before I get on a twelve and twelve schedule? I was thinking eight for a week ten for a week and then twelve. There is really no rhyme nor reason to this, just a guess. If my mushroom...

What schedule do you run your lights on- assuming of course you have them? And as far as the algae- do you think I should up my water changes?

Nope. I just turned 'em on. I did think about how things would react to the increased watts- I have the Halides on about twelve hrs., lunar lights at night- what kind of schedulae should I be on? Is the damage done? Stupid, I thought but didn't get my answers first.
