This is only my opinion since i have not kept any of the others but know a little about them. You will enjoy your toby though, i love my valentini.

The only reason i say SFE is that it is the hardiest out of the group u have listed and even though your parameters are probably fine the SFE is extremely hardy.

Can anyone else think of a way to get enough watts for a 29 other than MH's?

So i would need an MH setup then. Thanks for the help. Now to get a setup with a fully enclosed top for the eel.

I would let it recover. I had a pink tip that did that five times in two weeks and it has recovered, much smaller, but recovered.

So how many watts am i looking at then?

I was just wondering if the 130w retrofit system i am wanting to put in would be enough.

A coral beauty will be more than fine in a 29 as long as it is established. I've seen the recomendations for a coral beauty be anywhere from 20-50 gallons.

No problem. When i first introduced mine it would hang out on the backside of my LR. Then about 2 weeks latter i moved my LR around and put him on the top and he's been there the last 2 months.

I would just keep an eye on it. Remember that they can move and I would allow it to find a place that it likes. Just keep it away from filter intakes. For some reason some of them head straight for the intakes. Good luck.

If you were wanting to upgrade later on (depending on the size of your tank) you could do a small SFE. I have one in a 29 right now with clowns, a coral beauty, and a royal dottyback. I am planning on upgrading within 8 to 10 months though.

Looking for a 24" PC retrofit kit to put in my eclipse canopy or a 30" fixture to replace the front half.

You could put an SFE in there. Just becareful with what other fish you have in there. You might also want to think about getting a bigger tank in the future too.
