What would you guy's think about 250w HQI's? They might work, or no?

I agree with footbag, in the event it looks completely dead keep it in your tank for a while. I've never seen one recover that far gone.

Both. You lose with length and heigth. You compensate by using a higher capacity pump.

I just use a hacksaw for the big stuff & then clean up the ends. For 1" & less I use a PVC cutter, they give a very straight clean cut with no cleanup required.

I have had good luck with hellolights.

I like my SeaClone. The problems normally associated with them seem to be their need for adjustment, which is often. As far as producing, they work great. As far as silent goes, the quietest ones run on airstones and not powerheads.

Welcome to SWF! As far as I know, you need a separate ballast for each MH bulb. The ballasts may however be together in a common enclosure.

A HOB filter that gets good revues is the one that has a heater cartridge built in to it. This saves space in the small tank. As far as a 'fuge, I have a 12" HOB that I really like. I get good macro growth there and it holds some of the hardware.

Yep, just use a toothbrush. It helps if you brush it in a high flow area.

Those look pretty good. Hopefully, in the next year or so, I'm going to put a frag tank together & when/if I do, I plan on using that retro kit.
