    My Biocube 29

WOW!! Looks great!! I like the design and coral placement...I also really like your choices of corals and the variety... A little bit of everything in there. What kind of lighting are you running? Are you dosing anything for the SPS? How long has this baby been up and running? Thanks...

Upgrading to a new 180 from my very established 90....lots of questions!

While I completely agree that taking it slow and steady is the way to go, I do have to ask...You've setup and maintained a 90g full blow reef for 8 years?? You are probably pretty good at testing and inspecting the tank. It sounds like you are more of an advanced aquarist. New sand and of the...

Question about new live rock I just got.

Yup... I agree with Bang Guy. Try the 10g with the LS and LR already in it as a little coral an invert tank and cut your teeth with some Zoa's and Mushrooms. You could get away with using a little T5 light for those types of coral. You mentioned you have another 10g... Why not set that up as...

    Lighting upgrade advice

After a quick google search, the lights you mentioned look a bit under powered. However they do have some nice features. For the money you should be able to find a better all around fixture. Google the reefbreeders photon series LED to start, that should give you a good starting point. There...

    Skimmer selection

I have run HOB Reef Octo Skimmer, and In sump models. I would recommend both. There are better skimmers out there, but most will cost a lot more than a Reef Octopus. IMO, you can't beat them for the price. I did have some issues with the HOB BH1000 (this is an older model of the Classic...

    Stock List

There is nothing wrong with having two filters... Lots of folks do that. The more filtration the better. IMHO, I don't think anyone has ever regretted removing Damsels. Sooner or later you will take them out, or just have damsels in your tank. There is a reason that they are cheap.

starting a 40 gal bowfront need some insight

Those may support low light corals... But nothing light hungry. I have a friend (who I'm trying to talk into buying decent lights) who had something like your, and he just lost a big Nem because it did not produce enough light. I gifted him some frags that are looking pretty bad because the...
