I just got 3 emrald crabs in my 29 gallon (ordered a package from SWF). I put them in yesterday and they immediatley started cleaning the rocks. I'm not sure if they will actually cure the problem or just "farm" the algea, but with three in my tank I'm hoping that they have enough food.

So you're only supposed to have 1 per 20 gallons? How come the reef package offeres 20 of them for a 20-55 gallon tank? I just ordered the package yesterday.

I think you would be good with 60 lbs of LR and a protien skimmer. However, you might want a little more LR than that in a 55 gal tank. I have about 50 lbs of LR in my 29 gallon.
