    Cloudy/White Eyes.

You moved an established sand from one tank to another? Did you rinse the sand? What are ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates reading?

any one use this food ? coralscaptiv-e by seaslug?

Never used it, but it does look like some top-shelf stuff. The Captiv-E food seems geared more for SPS/gorgs/NPS. I betcha it's pretty fine (small particulates). For corals/anemones with more meaty needs, acans, plate corals, etc, I don't think it would work that well for them.

Ugh do you think this is a stocky anthias????

Yea, that unfortunately appears to be a juvenile Lyretail Anthias.... Here is a juvenile Stocky; There is good news and better news, however. Depending on tank size, you can keep multiple species of Anthias together. I have 2 lyretails and 3 Bicolor anthias in my 90gal. The better news, and...

    Removing pests?

Aiptasia likes to have its foot on something more secure, so either caulerpa should be fine as aiptasia likely won't attach to it. However I've seen plenty of chaeto filled sumps with aiptasia all in them. Only real advice would be to cultivate a visually clean section of the chaeto, and then...

    lionfish and triggerfish advice

The real question is how hasn't the toadfish ate the damsels yet?? The price of the lion is a kinda high. Not unheard of at all, and depending upon your location, could even be reasonable. The higher price isn't necessarily unwelcomed either. Keeps window shoppers out who just might happened to...

    Metal Halides

Different color bulbs generally burn out at the same rate. Timeframe for replacement is usually between 12 months to 18 months, depending on your lighting period each day (7 hours a day is much less, when you're talking everyday for a year, compared to 12 hours a day).

    Removing pests?

I had some aiptasia last well into week 2 of a hypo treatment on some rock in a QT. I doubt a quick soak or other treatment that would be effective against the aiptasia, without killing the macroalgae (assuming that's what you mean when you say plants) first. A quick FW dip should get rid of...

    RO Water vs Tap Water

To answer pretty much the same Tur4k did, but in a completely different way.... If the $150 cost of a RO/DI unit are going to be budget-prohibitive, it may be time to consider one's place, in or out of the hobby... To directly answer your question, water conditioners only do much. They can...

    Anyone watch any movies? Redux

Fun movie facts; POTC: On Stranger Tides opened at 4,155 locations, however 2,747 of them were 3D presentation, the most ever for any film. POTC: On Stranger Tides is estimated to make $90.1 million on opening weekend, the most so far this year, just edging out Fast Five (gonna be blown to bits...

    Anyone watch any movies? Redux

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides: 7 out of 10. Yep. Read that one correctly. Seven out of ten, Fast Five received a higher score from me then the latest POTC. Why? Well the answer to this film's relative disappointment perhaps stems entirely from two things, this is the first film of...

    Gas Tax vs Driving Tax

How did I miss this thread... Anyway, it's dreamland type thinking. Same with that idea to install breathalyzers into every car to prevent dui's... Just can't. Obama opinion

I submit this for consideration... We took a trip to Dauphin Island last weekend. Down here in the Mobile, AL, it's split by the Mobile Bay. The west side of the bay is the actual Mobile city, and where most of the industry is. The east side is more agriculture but more preferred area to live...
