    affects of copper

Have you/the LFS used a copper test (Seachem, Sailfert, Elos)? And actually saw readings indicating there was copper in the tank?

Identify the type of eel i have

Sure seems that way. It does like more Muraena, rather then Gymnothorax, which only helps your chances. Kidako's seem to have the very very slight appearance of vertical striping, esp. on the dorsal, rather then completely uniform like yours. Though that said, I couldn't find a small Kidado like...

    Please Evaluate my stocking list

Even though it's a big tank, I believe the 220gal is still a 6-footer, right? Might have to play some of the fish by ear, specifically the Crosshatch. My Crosshatch is a lot calmer then most of the one's I've observed, and might do okay in 6', but that said, she still uses up all of my 8'...

    Pepermint eating coral?

Make sure you actually have peppermints, and not camel shrimp.

    Feeding Brine Shrimp

Bag is $4-$6. Only need bay scallops, not sea scallops which are usually $10-$15 per bag of like 25. Great post as far as different nutritional values of foods. It's geared more towards aggressives, but regardless...

    Feeding Brine Shrimp

The types of fish you're feeding, matter a lot as to what you're feeding. Obviously a large puffer, or an eel would likely just let brine float on by. For more of the 'typical' SW fish, clowns, damsels, dottybacks, etc, a simple and more importantly nutritional food, is grated scallops. Buy the...

    Tang compatibility question

Similar "body types" can usually be associated with the genus of each fish. If you'll notice, every online retailer lists the scientific name of each fish. The first part of that name is the genus. Yellow tangs and Sailfin tangs usually don't work because they have 'similar body types' and are...

    ID on hitch-hiking fish?

Pearlfish can either commensal or parasitic. Commensal is when they live in harmony with their host, remora/shark sort of thing. My knowledge ends here, I'm not sure how to tell which different types of Pearlfish are commensal/parasitic, or it may be as the Pearlfish reaches adulthood, they turn...

    OPINIONS NEEDED!!

I don't think any logic or reason went into tank size suggestion, likely just regurgitating misinformation.... Fathead's almost exclusively arrive in the 1.5"-2" range, and throughout their aquarium lives, will not grow over 3.5". But it's their behavior that makes them suitable for smaller...

Thoughts on Adding Niger Trigger to Reef Tank

I don't mean to take the thread down this path, but a 75gal is really only appropriate for more of a temporary home for a smaller Niger. Niger's are quite active fish, more in common with tangs, in regards to their activity level. As for their 'Reef-Safe' definition, hermits and other small...

    OPINIONS NEEDED!!

A Fathead anthias (aka Sunburst anthias), or a Highfun Perchlet, (aka Geometric Hawkfish), are anthias opinions for a 54gal, though the flame hawk would definitely nix the Perchlet. I think a Fathead is definitely an option though. As for adding other species of anthias in with Lyretails, I...

    OPINIONS NEEDED!!

My advise would be you sorta have to decide which direction you want to head with the tank. If you're not willing to give up, even just ever so slightly on the corals, then I'd agree with Nike and say you're already at your max. The present bioload of the tank may not be at the tank's limit, but...

    Gas Prices

I would go a lot further then that. All artificially high gas prices do, is separate the have's from the have not's. Look at the countries where gas is ludicrous, at like $8/$9 per gal. The wealthy still drive their Range Rovers, S-Class/7-series, Ferrari's, etc. If you want to say "you can...

Coral Beauty and Emperor Angel together???

Yep, I would really doubt there would be an issue with those two. I would even go so far, as to suggest more angels. Don't forget about the 'medium' angels, those in the Genicanthus, whose behavior is more like a tang's then an angels, and would likely not be an issue as well from either angel...

    Best Large Angelfish?

As an "angelfish addict" there's just no way I could pick one angel and use the term "best." Perhaps 'favorite' (in that case, mine would be Apolemichthys Kingii) but there is such a variety to them, with each genus and each species having different traits to them, that would make them better in...

    ID on hitch-hiking fish?

It's a Pearlfish. They indeed live in the butt of a sea cucumber. Not really a nice way of saying it. When the cucumber died, the Pearlfish obviously needs to find a new host. I would go ahead and euthanize the fish, rather then let it starve to death.
