i think chromis , like most damsels become meaner somewhat proportional to the size of the tank. not saying they wont be mean or territorial at all in some theoretical monster tank, because that is not the case, but i am saying they wont care as much about other fish not in their immediate...

your "polyp coral" is looking like a gorgonian. they usually grow vertical. some are photosynthetic, some are not. yours looks similar to mine, which is photosynthetic, but also requires phytoplankton.
