ok i just got a 120g aquarium and now i have the time and money to setup a reef, im wondering what kind of lights i should go with Metal halides or VHO, eventually i want to put a anomone in the aquarium i believe its 18" deep

Was his stomach pinched in? Also what are your water parameters? sometimes they will just die because of the way that they are caught in the wild

yes try to find out why he lost his claw! when i had one it lost both claws when i was netting him out, but after he molted both claws grew back

ASK TO SEE IF HES EATING, IF HE IS EATING THEN BUY HIM. ALSO IF HIS HEAD IS POINTING STRAIGHT UP OR DOWN AVOID HIM. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A LID THAT COVERS THE WHOLE TANK BECAUSE THEY CAN JUMP OUT OF A TINY HOLE THEN YOULL FIND HIM DRIED UP ON THE FLOOR, ALSO THEY PERFER TO BE IN PAIRS BECAUSE...

i have had a arch-eye, and a flame hawk and they never touched my shrimp or snails

they're good for your tank, but since you say you have a ton of them your proably feeding your fish to much which has caused a population explosion, also they wont harm your fish. If you want to get rid of them try selling some, there are always people willing to buy them for a new tank

a 180 is way to small for a shark, and dont be to anxious to add everything in at once thats how most all newbies fail in this hobby, try picking up a book (ie reef fishes) to figure out what you want to put in your tank. you could do a aggressive setup, reef, or live rock with fish it all...

they are a schooling fish if u get 6 or more, if u just get three the dominate fish will bully the less dominate fish until it dies then it'll pick on the next cardinal until ur just left with one. I started off with 4 cardinal "pajama" fish now i only have one and he has been fine by himself...
