So about a month ago I got a Octopus DNW-110 recirculating protein skimmer, I set it all up in my sump and it's seems to be doing well. The only problem is that I can't get it dialed in. I dial it in so that the water level is about 1/4 of way up the cone part, but it keeps overflowing the cup...

Also, when you glue all of the piping together make sure that you use the cleaner, primer and cement. I decided to be cheap and just use the cement and ended up with a bunch of leaks.

Topping off my tank has been getting really annoying lately because I have to add like 2-4 gals of water every single day. Does anyone know a good reliable auto-top off system? Right i've been looking at the tunze osmolator. Does anyone have any expierience with that system? thanks.

You add more live rock as long as its cured. If its not cured then it will cycle the tank.

As long as the sump is lower than the DT is should work if you plan on using an overflow box. It shouldn't make much of a difference. The only thing that will change is there might not be as high of a flow as if you put it directly below.

When I had my 55 I had 2x175w metal halides which was plenty. Also make sure you get electronic ballasts and not magnetic ballast.

You will need 3/4" tubing.

What brand and model is the hob skimmer? More water movement won't help much, but if you get a pump that creates more bubbles, then that would help a lot. Like a pump with a mesh-mod would produce more bubbles.

What is your TDS meter reading?
