Im not exactly sure, but I think that the 10 micron filter has finer holes in it to pull out smaller material and the 1 micron has bigger holes to pull out larger ones.

THE TANK IS FILLED!!!!!!! I also started to fill the sump and started up the Octopus Skimmer. Everything is going perfect!

I wouldn't trust a unit from the bay. They usually use knock-off equipment and cheap filters. Check out **************. They have quality units at a great price.

Tanks almost full!!!! All of the plumbing is down. Just got to finish filling up the DT and then fill up the sump.

So after about 2 hours of making RO/DI water, the tank is now about 2/3 full. I should be able to finish filling it by tommorow and then transfer everything over during thanksgiving break.

634 gph isn't too much at all. As long as your fish aren't being slammed around the tank and the inhabitants aren't being blown around, you should be fine. I wouldn't go higher than 1,500gph IMO.

I finished polyurethaning the stand and painting the brim of the tank and I set the tank up on the stand. Next I just gotta fill with water! Heres a pic:

I would take everything that you can from the tank and put it in an extra tank or trashcan or something and then replace the tank.

So I was finally able to setup my new Octopus DNW 110 recirculating skimmer and it doesn't seem like it's making enough foam for it to collect in the cup. It is barely even above the water level. Is this normal for a new skimmer? How long will it be until it starts collecting waste? thanks
