I got a foxface to possibly help with the hair algae problem (I have another post on reef section) and I never see this guy. is this the way they are? Hide all the time?

I have always used RO water and phosphate sponges and pads, etc, etc. etc. I truly believe this problem started with the use of a different phytoplankton food I used a couple of time for the corals.

So I've been fighting the hair algae problem now for awhile. Took the entire tank apart, cleaned off the rock. Did a 50% water change, etc, etc. All this about 3 1/2 weeks ago. The hair algae started reappearing. I thought I would commit suicide!! But, I've done several things and I think...

Have had mine for 2 years. It has never bothered anything in my tank.

Does anyone know, or has anyone tried to make the bio-ball chamber into a fuge? If so, how do you do it. I have a CPR 194. It has 3 chambers (4 if you include the skimmer). It has a chamber that the water first comes into, then goes thru the skimmer, then overflows into bio-ball chamber than...

Here is example of "do not toss coral if polyps don't extend". This cup coral has not extended its polyps for over a year, and it IS still alive.

Totally safe. They are a very non-agressive fish. I have one and have cleaner shrimp, peppermint shrimp and no problems.

My guess is a bacterial bloom. Do as suggested and change your filter media and just sit back and let nature take it's course. I think it's too early to say your tank is done cycling.
