Is basic lighting OK in the beginning?

they will come and go not really a major concern with lighting i find mine grow better in caves and shaded spots. you will get better corraline growth once you upgrade lighting but for now fowlr reg florecent is ok just make sure bulbs are for saltwater and not freshwater. i believe that could...

    What eats copepods?

im assuming you have a new tank so plese do not get the mandarin quite yet. they require lots of established live rock in a mature system you have the clowns coming they should help to hold down the pod population. nothing to worry about just means a good start to a hopefully to be healthy tank.

    Water Changes with RO

aerating it with an airstone will raise the ph of newly mixed salt water. by doing this for 24-36 hours it should be close to what you want in your tank.

    Aiptasia

i would probably attempt to remove them with a tweezer under tank water in a bowl, i would worry about using any of the treatments like joes juice near a coral. or try the natural treatment of a peppermint shrip or i believe a copperband butterfly. i added one peppermint shrip months ago and...

    Adding Live Rock

live rock when it is shipped goes through a die off (many orginisms in the rock and on the rock out of water die). once put in LFS tank it starts to regain its live status. over the course of time the dieoff is gone and only live rock remains If the LFS just got rock in it may be dangerous to...

    Adding Live Rock

if buying cured from the LFS smell the rock as well if it has a strong smell than it is not fully cured and has dieoff (do not put that in) will need to be recured if no noticable smell other than regular tank smell that i would not worry about adding it without curing. (unless you leave it out...
