    Zoo, Zoa, Poly

zoo and zoa are the same thing, people just choosing to truncate Zoanthid differently. Palythoas are larger zoos. they usually have to be a diameter of larger than a dime at full size. they may also grow on stalks, depending on lighting. then there are Para's (not sure what the full length...

dark spots on a powder blue tang.

wow that was quick. i am guessing whatever caused the spots, caused its immune system to drop and, coupled with ick, lead to it's demise. you now have ick in your system and you should take all of your fish out and run fishless for 6 weeks. in the meantime it would be wise of you to perform...

    Calcium Help

randy's 2 part (aka 2 part solution) is super easy, super cheap, and works amazing. something about the chemical reaction keeps the levels up, for longer. i cant yet explain how this is possible, but i have been through a variety of methods, and they all seem to lead to my calc and alk...

dark spots on a powder blue tang.

again, look at the FAQ section to compare for yourself. black ick is similar in appearance but not the same, as it is a totally different affliction. black ick is not three dimensional, and does not have produce a scraping symptom.

    Red Sea Coral Pro Salt

i have been using red sea pro for 2.5 years or so now. i think its a great salt. if you have any sort of coral bio load , it wont matter what salt you use, you will still need to dose calc and alk and mg.

dark spots on a powder blue tang.

blotchy dark spots or little black pin point spots? a pic is worth 1000 words, but it sounds like stress spots as that tank is way too small for large tang. also check to see if the cukes are alive, if one died it could have expelled its stomach fluids and poisoned the whole tank.

    Torch Coral question

honestly, the best way is that which is closest to nature. break it with your hands, if you can get someone over local or internet that has agreed to trade. go for the lowest point away from the soft flesh, and pull the two branches like a wish bone.
