    I've got Mustangs!

Things are going well. I think the male, Tegan, is pregnant. He seems awfully shy and watches me when I'm watching him eat. I hope that this is a normal behavior until he gets used to things. The female, Jezebel, is more outgoing. She also eats more. I've been target feeding them. I tap on...

    Hydroid?

Are these hydroids? I'm not too worried about them as they aren't in either of my seahorse tanks, but more curious. They look like tinny, tiny dandelions on this little frag.

    I've got Mustangs!

Thanks. I did get them at OR. I've been using a long pair of tweezers to hand feed them and get them used to it. I then hope to 'lure' them over to the feeding station. The male seems more shy than the female. Maybe he's pregnant.

    Fry are 15 days now

Interesting. That gives me something to think about since I haven't had any fry other than the dwarfs. Kind of sounds like a refugium set up without the main tank. :-)

    Fry are 15 days now

How does the divided tank work? You keep the fry on one side and then move them to the opposite so you can clean the now dirty side?

    Fry are 15 days now

I'm curious about the set up of the tank. I understand having a bare bottom and no live rock for ease of cleaning and so that they don't bring in any hydroids. In my tank, I used live rock and bagged live sand (not true live sand but not dead). The reason I went this way when so many people...

    Fry are 15 days now

Usually after 24 hours I'll move the grow out brine into another container, now in my laundry room (I love my husband for puting up with me! ). I use a brine shrimp net to drain them off, give them a rinse and put them in a new container with some enrichment. Here they are at room temperature...

    Fry are 15 days now

I have about 4 hatcheries going at the same time. As I use one I clean the container and restart it. I always have an extra because I'm afraid to miss a feeding if something goes wrong (I could drop one or have a failure to hatch). I just put the extra in my grow out or give a treat to my reef...

    Fry are 15 days now

Sorry to hear about the babies. I've heard all sorts of time periods for the enrichment stage from 4 hours on up. I try and have a couple of different types of enrichment food on hand to mix things up a little with my dwarfs. I figure that way if one enrichment is missing something, then the...

    QT killing fish?

How are you acclimating them to the tank? How big is the QT? The whole bringing a new fish home and QT'ing it, is a lot of stress on the fish. Have you thought about just doing one fish at a time to minimize the stress? I'm in no way an expert, just thinking out loud.

    I've got Mustangs!

They have eaten which is a load off my mind. I received a detailed response from Pete Giwojna about the northern and southern varities but don't believe I would be able to post it. If you want to send me your email, I will send you the response; it's quite interesting. I was told that they...

    I've got Mustangs!

My H. erectus have arrived from Hawaii and are settling in. They were raised eating frozen mysis now I've just got to train them to come to a feeding station. I've read up on how to do that but does anyone have any other hints? here's the male...

Hypothetical question... would you use marijuana for medicinal purposes only?

Not only would I use it for a medical condition, I think it should be legalized and then taxed like cigarettes so our government has even more money to toss around.
