you can do small water changes every couple hours or so. or you can take a cup and keep scooping and pouring. atleast 10 scoops every 10mins.

you cant forget that the fish's waste is just building up in the tank. so small water changes are important to get some of that out. But if the water is able to be kept moving there is plenty of bacteria in the tank alone that could hold it over for a while.

I gurantee you that he is not going to tell you what the ingredients are. If he knows something he either figured it out himself or he has worked for a company that prohibited him to sell the salt or tell the recipe.
