I got 2 new bulbs for my FOWLR yesterday at Walmart. They wer 5.97 each and said on the box they were right for corals. I can't imagine what type of corals they were referring to. Maybe plastic.

Crimzy, I very sorry to hear about your friend. Sometimes when I hear these stories, I think, that could have been me. I feel like one of the lucky ones. I know many who aren't so lucky.

    Ro / DI

I got the 110 gpd unit from the big auction site. I love it. I have a 55 and I couldn't keep carrying all the water I needed for changes up the stairs. It works great and I've had very good service from the company. If you search RO/DI you should get a site that sells FILTER DIRECT.

OMG listen to the deal i just got i almost fainted

I went to Walmart today to buy a blender but there wasn't any price tag on it. The cashier said it was 9.99 and rang up the order. I thought it might be more but I didn't argue with the cashier. I check the price on line when I got home and it was 14.99. Did I steal the blender?

Massive Algae Problems - What to do? (pics)

It's hard to tell from the picture; is your tank set up by a window? Is sunlight affecting your tank?

Massive Algae Problems - What to do? (pics)

Sometimes I use a safety razor on the sides of my glass. I wouldn't use a razor on acrylic and I'm very careful not to have too much of an angle but it's very fast for removing algae.

Yes, it will cause water problems. When you do a water change, do you try to siphon the bottom of the tank where it's really bad? I do this when ever I do a water change, every other week.
