I don't know what kind of river it is but for fishing for trout I use a fly rod. I have also used powerbait which also works well if you don't know how to use a fly.

It sounds like you have done your homework! A refugium might be something to check into if you already havn't.

A dwarf angel would be good but don't forget if you plan to have corals they can be hit or miss. Flame Angels, Coral beautys... are all good.

Same here i'll be a senior this year and so far high school has been awsome. Just be active and get involved and you'll have a good time. Here is a helpful hint: don't write your essays you get weeks in advance the class before its due.
