    its the same thing the whole "reef safe " is just marketing to charge you more for the same product you can get at wall mart for 99 cents. the only ingredient I've ever seen is cryanocyalate.

    i would try 10g every 2-3 days. The solution to pollution is dilution at least in our tanks it is.

    looks like cyano to me a pita but not the end of the world cut back feeding and keep up the water changes and it will go away. Think of it like a plant its alive cause your feeding it to kill it starve it out. good luck

    i would add 2 more k3 or k4's and place them low on the side blowing across sand and rock and 2 high pointing down and have all the flow intersect in front of your rock

    find a fish that will eat it. some people have had luck with using a tang to consume unwanted algae.

    get rid of it they are pretty much useless and it will starve and die but first it will consume all the useful life in your sand bed.

    keep in mind there is a chance it will be contaminated with farm run off sewage or petrol products. also could have some unwanted pest. most live sand and rock is collected off shore to reduce the chance of contamination.

    yeah pretty much I'd go with a 29 cube or 24 aqua pod a 12 will get crowed pretty quick, Try to get the sand from a below the tide line and rock from a small lagoon type area.
