You could probably get away with the 1/2" since you are splitting, but you need to calculate the total amount of plumbing and account for the head loss, before you choose your pump. The SCWD does reduce your available pressure. Have you considered the 1" SCWD?

I have the Quiet One 4000 and it is great so far. I cant hear it over my Maxi-Jet powerheads or any of my other equipment.

If you are going to get the 4000, I have one that is 2-months old and I need to upgrade. I would be willing to sell it, if you are interested. My overflow is rated at 1100gph and the pump is a little weak. I think Im going to buy a 6000.

I got my Octo NW-150 for $175 shipped from D&T about 1-1/2 months ago. It is far quieter than my overflow box and modded Maxi-jets.

Are the other brand names significantly better for the extra cost? Im not opposed to spending more if it is worth it. Id rather buy once.
