Ronnie, yes you are safe, mushrooms can touch each other. My mushrooms and rics are right next to one another. The rics even hit the zoas from time to time with no damage, just some competition for the light. Posted my email on my thread for our ric discussion, just send me an email...

Growth of the Green Stylo: Sept. 11, 2008 to January 13, 2009:

Green Stylo was purchased on Sept. 10th. So placed in tank on the 11th. Would have to say each branch has grown 1/2 to 1 inch. Which is pretty much the same growth as my clams.

oh and they eat just about anything. I have given them frozen krill, mysis and my home made stuff. He will go after marine snow and plankton too.

of all my fish, the Midas has grown to be my favorite. They love to swim with current and the way they back into hiding spaces is hysterical to watch. I highly recommend one!!
