    Green Chromis vs Anthias

I know that Green Chromis is suppose to be an easier fish and an anthias is suppose to be harder to keep. Besides that they need to be feed 3 or 4 times a day, what else make an anthias a harder fish to keep? I am trying to decide which to have as a schooling fish in my 165. I would like to have...

    Using old sand

Thanks for the response. I am planning on the tank cycling anway, I am just curious if there would be any other negative affect of using the sand if it had been sitting without air circulation for a while?

    Using old sand

I had a 55 gal tank set up with 70 lbs ls. I am upgrading to a larger tank and am going to use that sand in my refugium and place new sand in my display tank.Anyway, I placed the sand in a bucket filled with water, but no waterflow for about a week as my tank was getting set up. My question...

    Show fish for tank

Is it ok to keep two tangs together even if they have different body types or would I need to add one more to have an odd number of tangs in my tank?

    Gurgle from overflow

I have three 1in bulkheads that drain down to my sump. When I get my pump running I get a gurgling sound from my drain holes that come out of the tank. The only way I could stop the noise was to close of one of the holes and put a ball valve on a second on and closed it off about half way. Is...

    Show fish for tank

I originally had a Naso tang on my list of fish for my tank. I have some people tell me that it will get to big for my tank, so I am trying to decide if I should get one or not. My tank is a 165 gal(84Lx24Hx18W). Anyway, if I do not go with the Naso then I am wanting one more fish in the 6 to...

    Bulkhead question

I have holes drilled in the back of my tank and will be using bulkheads in the holes. The bulkheads have threads on the outside part of the tank. My questions is will I need to find something to screw onto the bulkheads that will then allow me to put the pvc pipe into, or do I just run the pvc...

    Running plumbing through a wall

So a dehumidifier will help suck the moister from the air, which makes sense. Would it be better to have no air flowing on my sump and just use fans in my canopy? Sitting my tank up like this is really the only feasible option I have for this tank, so if anyone has other ideas please post them...

    Running plumbing through a wall

I have ran into situation with my tank that will not allow me to place my sump/refuge underneath the stand(The 55 gal sump is to tall for the stand). So it looks like I will be putting my sump in a closet that is underneath my stairs. There are a few questions that I am wondering about. For...

How about this fish list for a 55 gal

This is not a list for my tank. This is a list from an "expert" that they are saying would work nicely in a 55 gal tank. A Naso would grow over a foot long, it would not have room to turn around.

How about this fish list for a 55 gal

I was looking around the internet and ran an article that I found interesting. It was on saltaquarium.about.com dealing with sitting up a 55 gal FOWLR tank. They were going through the steps of sitting it up and came down to the fish to put in the tank. Here is the suggestions they had: NASO...

    Which list would be best

I appreciate your concern over the triggerfish, but I have done quite of bit of research and feel that without shrimps and crabs that they are considered reef safe. Have anyone had one of these triggers that harassed other fish?

    Which list would be best

The blue jaw trigger gets to be about 8 inches. It is suppose to be one of the few reef safe triggers. Thanks for the replies

    Which list would be best

I am still trying to decide which way to go with my 165 gal tank(with 55 gal sump/refug). I have come up with a few different fish list that I would like people to commit on.
