Sandman, 20 gallons is too small also. But you keep using L as your unit of measure, and in most countries that can only mean litres. You have a 30L tank, too, right?

Yeah, they co-operate with each other. If you have the space it's best to get two of them for this reason. That would be so cool.:D

What could be wrong you ask? Ammonia and nitrite should be 0, especially with tangs. That's probably why in your picture your tang looked like crap. Even nitrates should be low. Only perfect water conditions are adequate. Why the spike? Did you just add him? How old is the tank?

It is normal anytime there is an increase of protein and what have you in the water column. An overly-frothy protein skimmer always means that it's at least doing what it's supposed to. I notice mine bubbles more after feeding.

Doing about four-times your tank volume per hour over your bio balls is good. More isn't a problem. And yes, the sump pump can pump away. Bio balls work better in wet/dry situations because the bacteria flourish like nothing else when there's all that extra oxygen. Too high of water flow may...
