    New 125g Reef Ready Build

Hi, all. After a lot of research on this and other forums, I finally bought everything today. Delivery on the tank and equipment is scheduled for February 3rd. So, I'm going to start this thread to show the new build and the upgrade from my 75g to the 125g. I'm trying some new things on this...

Tank Upgrade Shopping List and Questions

Thanks, GeriDoc. I just got everything, including the ball valve. Unfortunately, I went with a more expensive stand with better hardware and materials and didn't have room for the Eshopps 300. I had to get the 200. I may have to go with two smaller heaters instead of one larger one to make...

Tank Upgrade Shopping List and Questions

Thanks, edat. With what I've read and researched, I think the 1200gph is right. Eric

    Pre-drilled tank question

Ok, thank you. I still don't quite understand, because with vents at the bottom, top and midlevel, it just seems like water would just continue to flow into the holes and out the tank. There's obviously something I don't understand about these in-tank sections. But, obviously smarter people...

    Pre-drilled tank question

Hi, all. Trying to decide between a non or pre-drilled tank but have a question. If I go with the predrilled tank with the holes in the bottom, what happens if I need to do some sort of maintenance on the sump/refugium system or decide I don't like the sump? How do you keep the tank from...

Tank Upgrade Shopping List and Questions

Hi, all. I’m getting ready to upgrade my 75g to a 125g and have a shopping list (after I’ve done all my research). I currently have a maroon clown, scopas tang, scarlett hawk, coral beauty and one green chromis. All of them are 5-7 years old. I have a leather, zoos and various mushrooms...

Tank Upgrade - Reef Ready Pre-drlled Pros and Cons?

Thanks, edat. I'm pretty sure I've decided to go with the pre-drilled with internal overflows. But, I'm not familiar with Herbie Style. What is that? I just did a search and didn't see anything explaining it. Eric

Tank Upgrade - Reef Ready Pre-drlled Pros and Cons?

Eric B, I think I see where you're going with this. My 75 has one brace which sits between the halides on my system. But I think the 125 has two. I wonder if they sit right in the line of the halides? I don't have the tank yet. I suppose I have to have the system high enough to get past...

Anyone using the Eshopps r-200 refugium with a skimmer?

In my research to upgrade my 75 to a 125, I'm reading more about refugiums and thinking about trying one. I've seen the Eshoppes 200 at my LFS. I'm thinking to use my 75 to start the refugium if I go that route. Anyone using it with a skimmer? And it looks like there's a compartment where I...

Tank Upgrade - Reef Ready Pre-drlled Pros and Cons?

Thanks, GeriDoc. I really think I'm interested in going this way. It would also be nice to get the tank closer to the wall (drilled on the bottom) and I like that. My only concern right now is making sure those vents (the Aqueon has vents on the bottom and middle, too) don't get clogged or...

Tank Upgrade - Reef Ready Pre-drlled Pros and Cons?

Hi, all. We're putting new carpet in the house and I'm using that as an excuse to upgrade to a new tank - well, after all, isn't it easier to get a new tank and transfer an existing tank??? ;-) I'm looking at an Aqueon pre-drilled tank with the overflow to the left but not in the corner...

    new pics

Yes, it's a white stripe maroon and she's gorgeous! She looks like she may be tank raised. My big girl has gotten really dark and still pretty, but I like them better when they're red. It doesn't look like you have an anemone and that's a good thing. Otherwise, she could be really aggressive...

    New 75 G tank

7 weeks still isn't very old. Leave the clowns alone a couple of months and keep checking your levels. That will give you plenty of time to get to know your clowns and really appreciate them.

my first tank for saltwater want any pointers and or help on how to's please

Well, it's getting better (with the light and skimmer), but unfortunately, you still have too many fish in that tank. I'm not a fan of hex since there's not much sand and not much swim room (and still not much rock). That would be a good tank for just the clowns, but the CB needs something...
