You should start out with real hardy fish like wrasses and damsels. If its not a reef tank get a grouper.

You should get a small damsel or chromis. another idea is a small cowfish/boxfish but if they die they can kill other fish from the toxins in their body. if you have rocks in your tank you can get two small clownfish and an enenome or try a small wrasse.
