It is a glass tank. I have not had problems with the hang on overflows, they are simple to set up.

The lighting isn't great, but if you come get the tank its yours.

Thanks anyway. I guess I'll go with a manufactured stand and canopy. I do plan to try your do it yourself closed loop. Perhaps I'll end becoming a better plumber in the end. Brian
