I have one in a 1 gallon that im moving to my 50. They are reef safe but you must be careful that your rocks are stable cause they burrow. Another cool thing is that if you are lucky you can pair it up with a burrowing goby like the watchmans. Its cool to see the symbiosis. As for "playing well"...
