OK, I have my setup ready to go and I plan to install next week. I plan to put live sand, chaeto algae, and snails in the fuge. Does that make sense? Is there anything else I should add or watch out for?

I am very interested to hear replies to this. I currently run a UV sterilizer with my 150 Gal FOWLR. I am installing a refugium next week, so any additional knowledge would be great.

I decided to go ahead and buy the insert. This is what it looks like: The small hole is outside the small chamber and is where the pump fits. The overflow grate is higher than the wall opposite. Wish me luck!
