thanks for the reply... i missed some info...the blue angel i've had for about 6 months and yellow tang 5 months...it was in my 29 gal. i do have LR and LS. as far as returning the mandarins or other fish, my LFS doesnt take back fish unless it was less than a week. I've learned my lesson...

i am fairly new to the hobby... i upgraded to a 55 gal tank (from a 29). i've been reading a lot of info from these board (which i should have prior to starting SW) anyway, my LFS sold me a yellow tang(2 inches), blue angel (2 inches), and a hippo tang(1 inch)... never stating the size tank...

i am fairly new to the site and new to the hobby. I just picked up a used hang from the back CPR protein skimmer. It doesnt have a pump. any recommendations? also what exactly does a protein skimmer do?

i transfered to 55 gal 3 weeks ago... the light(compact) are new to my old rocks... phosphates are within range, and so are my alk and ph...didnt check my nitrates yet... algea looks a little better since i cut the timer on the lights (they are on for about 6hrs), but i also bought 10more...

i have a 55 gal. that has a slight algae problem... some people told me snails, crabs, and conchs should help the problem. my question is HOW MANY should i put in my tank? and i need something to move/ clean my LS.

hey birdie, thanks for the suggestions about the fighting conch, nassarius snails and certh snails... how many do u think a 55gal should need...and i cant seem to find a fighting conch on swf website to buy...is there another name?

any recommendations on cleaning or circulating live sand? fish, or starfish or crabs... any suggestions, i would greatly appreciate it.:)

I do have a few snails and crabs(blue leg) as far as alk, phos, ph, ca, they are all good... i didnt check nitrates... could that cause high algee... the live rock starting to look a little better... but can just be eyes of hope... someone told me about a tea bag ALGONE its a water...

just curious, i just got a 55 gallon tank and put my old live rock in the tank with compact lights... my live rock is turning green... any suggestions to clear it up... never happened before?
