I bought Red Sea Salt and it tells me to add 1.4 lbs per 5 gallons of water. Well how much is that in cups or something? Don't have a scale to measure 1.4 lbs out too. Any quick help would be appreciated!!

I'm planning on using it for the 57 gal later, this tank is only 8 inches from front to back more than the one I'm using now. Will this work for that as well? Thanks SLOfish for the good news.

OK, correct me again please if I'm wrong, which I probably am, that's why this place is great. Put in the sand and let it settle for a couple days. Then run the filter for a couple days to clear up the water. Put in the LR and a fish (or a shrimp from a grocery store?) to start the cycling...

So if I were to use the Fluval 304 or 404 since both are rated for much higher than my tank size, that should increase turnover of the water, which would be much better right???? Also, somone please correct me if I'm wrong, don' put the LR in until after the cycling? Thanks Nas19320
