    smoke

It's not hair algae. It is a very dark green almost black and covers the rock but does not grow tall like hair algae. It looks glossy. You can't pull it off, you have to suck it up. I would have to get in the tank to do that. I change 200 gal water every 10-20 days. I could take a pic but...

    smoke

I have a large fan that blows across the tank to cool the water and the ceiling is very high (more than 10' above the tank). The tank is 800 gal and it has a 150 gal sump with a large skimmer. I just installed a phos-reactor last week so I am hoping that will help. This is a fish only tank...

    smoke

There is a plastic grid over the tank that is white but has turned brown with what I assume is smoke residue. Also the walls in the room with the tank turn brown. It is behind a wall but the same ventilation system.

reckler, thanks for the info. Customers can only view the tank, no one but a fish maintenance person has access to the tank.

    smoke

I've been trying to find out is cigarette smoke raises phosphate levels in a tank. I help to take care of a tank in a bar that dispite frequent water changes still has measurable phosphate levels. They have a large RO/DI unit and a carbon tank. We've tested the RO/DI and that water is fine...

    Copper

My husband thought that he would do me a favor and installed a valve on my tank. He didn't know what a brass valve would do. It took less than 24 hrs for all of my corals to show the effects of copper leaching into my 125 gal tank. It took about a month to recover. You will always get better...

Does ANYONE make a decent powerhead..

I would try soaking the impellar in vinegar and giving it another try. I like my maxijets. I could be wrong but I think that the rubber part that centers it is supposed to be tight. I had a similar thing happen and it's been fine since.

    help building a canopy for a 125

Offshore80: It sounds like a very neat system. Do you have any other pics? zanemoseley: I could use eggcrate for the time being. I don't care for the glare I get from the MH so I wouldn't mind having a shield all of the way around. Any idea how much the eggcrate reduces the light?

    OT: creating a web-site

Bradttu, Your opinion is very helpful. You are right, I think that one might favor something that they learned first. I know people that use both. I am still undecided. Do you know if they have demo's. Guess I will look into that. Thanks again.

Bradttu, Did you ever try anything besides Front Page. For someone with no program experience how difficult is it?

    help building a canopy for a 125

Nice setup! Do you have access from the back to work on the tank? I am having a problem with fish jumping out and I need to make the sides higher. I am thinking of leaving my lights alone and keeping the top open, just wood on the sides.
