In the summer months it's fine to put the specimens in a styro cooler. Even second day delivery is ok for coral, plants and some inverts.

Peps couldn't take down a chromis. They'll eat the remains, they're scavengers.

Coraline Algae on LR
You really need power compacts, or very high output to get the desired coraline. NO lights are no good for anything except a FOWLR.

Sounds like you should take it to back to the lfs or a friends tank that has the micro algae that they eat. It's sad to see them wither away.
