I was just trying to learn how an overflow works. I don't have my tank set up yet, but is the overflow pipe set a certain height where if the pump shuts off it won't overflow the sump? Just curious, is there a certain level i have to stop filling up my tank to avoid problems? Thanks TC

If i am setting up a new tank, can i fill it with RO water and make sure there aren't any leaks, and then add the salt?

Ok, thank you I now have the gaskets. I am posting the link to the directions that i have for this. It says NOT to glue the pvc pipes together. Wouldn't they end up leaking this way, or eventually start sliding apart? http://*** commercial site link removed

I have a question about my drilled tank. Should i have some sort of rubber washers for where the pipes go through the holes? My kit didnt come with any, but it seems like it would leak without some sort of a seal. Thanks TC

I'm planning on getting cured rock. I also purchased an RO unit, and i was planning on getting the tank running and ordering rock next week. So basically with cured rock, I need to have enough water to cover the highest rock in there? Thanks again, TC

Im confused about this whole process apparently. I thought i had to have the tank full of water and up and running before i added any rock or sand.

I am starting to get my tank set up and have a question. Its a 90 gallon tank and i plan on getting 120lbs of LR. How much should i fill the tank before i get the rock? I imagine 120 lbs of rock will take up a lot of space, so about how much water should i leave out?
