I do not have any experience with this situation but if it is indeed an algae bloom you should be able to go a few days/a week with little to no Lights on to help correct the problem

Sounds like you have WAY too much life in a new tank.... try to slow it down a little.... The hermits will probably kill the snails if water conditions dont...... It does sound as if your parameters are on the way down.... after they have reached optimum levels then try to add livestock desired...

I just got some more LR and it had something in it..... There are many of them and they look almost like Rollie Pollies but they do not roll up..... They seem to hide in the rocks except for when I feed, they come out and get anything that makes it past the fish A friend got some of the same...
