    Large angels

how about one of the Genecanthus' completely reef safe. I think Zoo's are the most appetizing corals to a large angel, I would suspect almost all of them will develop a taste sooner or later. Besides the Genes' your best bet would be a fish in the Apolemichthys group. goldflake, griffis...

What kind of scenery do you put in a fish only tank?

the only decoration ive seen done well, or at least thought wasnt tacky, was live rock. if you've just got a FO anyways, spring for some of the nicer, more decorative rock. A branching rock or some nice marshal islands looks great in a FO. fenner has some terrific pictures of a few beautiful...

Daughter doing a report-what's the most poisonous "fish" and coral?

I believe its the "VHO ballast fell in the tank during a water change and killed my scooter blenny and return pump-Pseudanthias" very rare. very expensive. very stupid. I'll have to get back on your on the coral, I've only tried to eat a few of my LPS', and so far so good.

    Racoon butterfly

I think overstocked can be a highly relative term. when your sit back and think about it as inches of fish per gallon, it can be pretty easy to make inane, uninformed comments about the stocking level of other people's tanks. if you think of it as inches (15) per gallon (75), my tank is 1:5...

    Racoon butterfly

I had my 75 g tank for two years with relativly nothing in it. I've always had a few chromis, my ocellaris pair, and maybe one more, but its never been more than that. I didint notice it until tonight, when I finally caught my citron goby out of the overflow (he's been in there about a month)...

    Racoon butterfly

damsels on this board are over-villanized. IMHO. is the tank a standard 120? thats my next tank after the 75. i think it is the perfect dimensions for a medium sized reef. jwt: well stated.

    let's see some anthia's

Hm, mine is incredibly finicky. I got him as a full adult, so maybe that is why, but I worry that he's not getting enough to eat. he only seems to go after live brine and formula one, and even then its only a few bites at every feeding, which is up to four times a day, just so i'm sure he's...

hey waterfaller and fda; what are you feeding your squarebacks? did you ever have to acclimate them off of live food?

    Is this to sudden

with the exception of the tangs, I don't see any behavioral issues assuming you've got enough rockwork to create spaces for everybody. its also a matter of your biofilter being able to handle the new fish. again with the exception of the tangs, I don't see this addition being too much for a...

    MH Question

do you already have the canopy? components? If you're going to do MH's, and you're going to want clams, might as well do it 100% the first time. Note: 100% is always expensive. have you looked at the double ended halides? HQI's with proper reflectors will outperform anything, and bulb life and...

    Racoon butterfly

I wouldnt worry about 2 damsels in a 120 gallon tank. are they yellow tails, or blue devils? I also wouldnt reccommend the racoons, they will make any future attempt at changing to a reef tank futile.

do you all consider a lemonpeel angel a "reef safe" fish??

how about a midas blenny? hardy, bright yellow fish that stays primarily in the water column.

    let's see some anthia's

I'm constantly surprised at the few squarebacks you see in the trade. Gorgeous fish, gets a decent size, makes for a perfect centerpiece for a medium sized reef. Mine's about 5.5 inches, lives with all smaller fish, no issues to speak of. He's a pain to feed, though - He generally wont touch...

    Short Quality Sump Skimmer

i thought 'money's not an option' was a typo for 'money's no object' unless you can find something used, you'll be hard pressed to find an affordable, competant skimmer for under 200.
