just got an emperor 400 and it says to use Marineland Black Diamond. First; this stuff is necessary right? or is there something else i can put in these filter bags that is better? anything that makes the water healthier for the fish. thanks

i just pulled a RG out of my tank that is diseased ( i am pretty sure it is ich). what should i do with my display tank. does ich spread easily, quckly. rarely? the only think i noticed different about my tank is that the nitrates have went sky high, possibly from the disease?
