    Finally Upgraded

Well guys, I've had my 58 for about 2 years, and this weekend transfered it to my 120, which had been preping for oh about a month. To spare you the details, the transfer was overall good, with the only loss being a couple candy cane heads, and my lawnmower blenny. Otherwise the only core...

    Uh Oh, Rabbitfish Worries

I agree, with the skittish tendancies of rabbitfish in mind, it seems the most logical option. I'll see how he is tommorrow.

    Uh Oh, Rabbitfish Worries

Interesting, I've read that the drip method actually makes the pH swing worse, as it is not a linear cycle, and would stress out more sensitive fish more. I usually do drip, but also don't think that acclimation is the problem since he was so active the first two days. Strange, but i'm letting...

    Uh Oh, Rabbitfish Worries

no, i mean solar or solaris salitity 1.0124 and temp goes from about 81 to 80. I acclimated him with the standard add a shot glass of water every 2 minutes, dump half, repeat, repeat, repeat untill its only about 1/16 lfs water, then add in. I switch foods every time i run out, and i'm near...

    Creating a QT tank!

Thanks squid, so you'd reccomend a sponge filter or biowheel rather than a full fleged wetdry? Also, would you be more inclined to a 20H 20L or 18H? I'm kind of leaning twoard the 18, since its evaporation, cost, and maintinance would be much, much easier. Do you think this would suffice?

    Creating a QT tank!

Hey guys, I'm a pretty seasoned reef keeper, who is in the had been in the business of, as calfo said "russian rullet", not using a QT tank. Unfortunatly, I have a clownfish that every week or two will show up with a couple spots of ich in my 12 gallon nano cube. It never really bothered me...

    Re-Aquascaped....

Of course it is you want to know why? <climbs on to soap box> the T-5 HO lighting is a very skinny tube and with the use of the icecap reflectors or the Tek reflectors which are very effective thus allowing you to keep the anenomes you see, sps in the higher regions as well as clams on the sand...

    I Live Guys...

I've got the 3*39 watt tek t-5 hood, theres a great thread on -- about the TEK fixtures. Their parabolic reflectors are great and are just as good if not a little better than VHO. I love my hawkfish and went through a process deciding if i'd like the shrimp or the hawk. I decided on the hawk...

    I Live Guys...

The anenome hasn't bothered anything other than some shrooms, but the lighting you described on a 55 prolly wouldn't be good enough for a BTA. I've got T-5 and feed them a peice of krill every 3 or 4 days. Usuallally large peices for the big one, a medium to large for the rose and a small...
